Blogs, Opinions and The Truth:

"In what you say of another, apply the test of kindness, necessity and truth, and let nothing pass your lips without a 2/3 majority." ~Liz Armbruster

If only everyone would follow this simple rule, we’d have no social or political issues at all. Even so, too many people like to fight and some get high on being terrified. Besides, blogs and opinions don’t always have anything to do with the truth and mine is no different. Sometimes what otherwise kind people say about the president of the United States just blows my mind, and considering the fact that someone asked Sarah Palin to speak at the Women of Faith convention makes me question my faith as a Christian.

Among a bunch of Christians who’ve made ridiculous claims regarding the current administration, no one has said more or done more harm than Sarah Palin, at least through my view. Then again, that’s not kind of me to say, so when it comes to allowing something to pass my lips and/or my finger tips without a 2/3 majority of kindness, necessity and truth, I’ve already broken the rule. I suppose it’s human nature to condemn men, women and things we don’t understand, but then again, we will never understand who or what we condemn because we condemn them. It’s an abuse of the truth.

It’s a time of change and when change came, we became afraid, enraged and began to exaggerate our claims, as if they were based on facts. Still, the fact remains the same. We only hate what makes us afraid and we remain afraid of what we can’t understand. Fear based hate is based on ignorance, so I think it’s time we insist on the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth. There are web sites that produce the facts, but it’s also a fact that people will only agree to believe the truth if it agrees with their view, and that’s not what the truth means. Still, what’s true for me may not be true for you, so we keep creating new issues based on nothing but false information and lies we hide behind just to prove we are right 100% of the time.

I think we need to rise above what makes us afraid so that we can see beyond the strife and all the false information that blocks what might have been within an endless list of positive possibilities. At least that’s my personal belief, so take what seems true for you, and with the breath of kindness, blow the rest away.
